About Us

Ultra Hobby Products is small, two man company formed in 1998 by John Grigsby and Steve Moon while working at Hall's Hobby House in Dallas, TX. Over the years we have tried to come up with new solutions to old problems in model airplane building and flying. We have always tried to use a new or different perspective when coming up with ideas in this great hobby.

Our first product, the Ultra clevis, was just such an idea. While building a new plane for CLPA competition in 1998 Steve was looking for an adjustable clevis to fit over the then popular double flap horns made by CSC. John then set out to design a clevis that would work and the Ultra clevis was born. A narrow throat Ultra clevis was also designed that would fit over standard width flap and elevator horns. Then a long throat Ultra clevis was designed to be used on large scale RC aircraft. Since then we have sold hundreds of all types of the Ultra clevis. They can be found on CL Stunt planes, RC aircraft, RC Scale planes, and even RC Jet aircraft.

From that simple product we have continually added new products to our catalog; such as the UHP manifold/venturi set for converting 4-stroke RC motors to CL use, laser cut kits, carbon fiber pushrods, and our newest product the Gieseke Nobler Component Kit.

We will continue to look for interesting solutions in the model aircraft hobby using advanced, modern methods and thinking.
