The Impact ARC kits have arrived and are ready for shipping. These kits look great and should make for a fantastic, competition worthy Control Line Precision Aerobatics ship. The kit weighs approximately 34 oz. including all hardware and 29 oz. without the hardware.
We have recently completed construction of the new Ultra Hobby Products Impact ARC. This is an Almost-Ready-to-Cover version of Paul Walker's famous Impact. Paul has used this plane to win the Walker Cup at the U.S. Nationals several times and he won the 1992 World Championship with this plane, also.
As an ARC this kit is competition legal in the USA. The Impact ARC comes with a pre-built fuselage, wing, flaps, stabilizer, elevators, and rudder. The kit also includes a fiberglass cowl, all necessary control hardware, other hardware, and wheels.
We have continually stressed the importance of using high-quality lightweight wood in the production of this kit. The prototype kit was completed with a Discovery Retro 60 for power and the final all-up weight is 59 oz. Pictures of the prototype are shown below.
The Impact ARC has a wing span of 62 in., with a wing area of 700 sq. in. It can be flown with a wide variety of engines, form a piped .40 to a .75 2S motor. Four stroke motors such as the Saito 56, 62 and 72 would also be a good match for this plane.
